iPad Apps for Math
- This is an iPad app I have used with students who have autism and dysgraphia, where the primary problem is legibility of written math.

-
Mod Math Specifics from the website:
- Provide students with a virtual piece of graph paper, where they can set up math problems in a format that’s easily legible.
- Provides students with a pencil-free platform for doing basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Allows older students to complete more complex math assignments, including fractions, square roots, and algebraic equations.
- Print out the work pages to turn in at school, upload to DropBox., or send worksheets via e-mail, or text.
- Move completed equations to various points on the page.
- Save assignments in a searchable document library.
Mathpad
- Click here for some reviews from common sense media website:
MathPad has a very specific purpose: enable users to create, edit, and share documents with neatly aligned expressions. Kids will probably need some time to practice before becoming fluent with the tool, but the investment is worthwhile, and there’s plenty of support from the developers. As a growing number of education tools transition from paper-and-pencil to digital platforms, it makes sense to undergo the same transition when it comes to note-taking.
Parents need to know that MathPad is a digital note-taking tool that lets kids create mathematical expressions within documents. Kids use a special math keyboard that draws, resizes, and aligns characters so expressions are easier to read. Additional features include iCloud document storage, the ability to email and print documents in PDF format, and the ability to share documents with other MathPad users. It’s worth noting that the free version of MathPad includes functionality for users to try some of the basic features. There is an in-app purchase option, which will upgrade users to the advanced features discussed in this review. There is also an option to simply purchase the app with all the features; this version is called MathPad EDU.
Mathscribe
